Muckle Flugga lighthouse and below- Original Shetland art.
Muckle Fuugga, Shetland. Collaboration between artists to create this painting. The underwater part has a clear coat of glossy resin. Acrylic paint and resin on a wood board, ready to hang. This piece has been professionally framed use of a black tray frame ( no glass) Measures 64 x 44 x 5 cms.
Artist Ann Barron painted the sky and lighthouse then passed the painting onto Sarah for the underwater scene. Perfect combination.
A collaboration between artist Annne Barron and Sarah Kay. During a conversation one day, I suggested to Anne that our shared artistic style, colour palettes and passion for the sea might result in truly special collaboration. This simple idea led to a new collaboration that has now blossomed into a unique collection of one-off pieces. Inspired by my passion for snorkelling and underwater photography, Anne and I combined our talents: she paints iconic Shetland landscapes on the upper canvas, while I create scenes below the waterline, blending realistic and dreamlike imagery.
Acrylic paint and resin on wood.
