Soroby Beach Scarf
A unique hand-knitted scarf made with a delicious yarn blend of 60% Merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk that feels fabulously soft and warm. I knitted this in the round, so it’s doubly warm and cosy, but with no seams or edges. This was knitted whilst travelling from Tiree to Islay on the winter ferry timetable (ie there was plenty of time, including an overnight stop on the Kintyre!) and I finished the fringes just as the ferry berthed at Port Ellen.
This is a one-off scarf, designed and made by me for our exceptionally chilly winter island sailings. I’ll be making more now that I know how beautifully it turns out.
Ocean blue/green. 145cm x 14cm. Hand wash.

A one-of-a-kind hand-knitted scarf – sublimely soft and warm.
Made with wool/silk yarn.

Jules was taught to knit and sew by Granny and Mum as a child, and has used those skills to make and mend many family garments and homewares ever since. More recently, with family needs saturated, Jules’ knitwear has sold well via Scottish Island Gifts. Adding weaving into the mix in the 2020s has given scope for new areas of creativity and a wider range of products.
