A fuitheag is a lease band or bits of a warp left after weaving and is a by-product of the Harris Tweed industry. Commonly used to tie the greasy tweeds before finishing, these woollen ‘ropes’ are often to be found in abundance in loom sheds!
Rather than see them thrown away, I decided to get creative and ‘draw’ with them instead.
The external dimensions of the frame are approx 16″ x 8″ and there’s a hook on the back.
